Tom . . . it was with great interest that I read that you'll "do" breakfast at a Villa. How about at a beach?
Well, cooking eggs on the beach is pretty challenging, but I'm up for it! I don't have a cooler or a portable gas stove, but if I could find those items, I'd be happy to do beachside breakfast!
we've got cooler you can borrow anytime... and you might not need a portable gas stove... I'm not sure that cooking on the beach is allowed anytime but Easter weekend. So maybe it's an all cold breakfast... there's a challenge for you!
Sadly, Ellen is correct. Cooking on the beach is not allowed, with the sole exception of Pâques weekend, which is Easter weekend in English. I found this out after going through major effort to arrange a Breakfast on the Beach for a group of friends, and being thwarted in the end by the local regulations.
Champagne and croissants, a morning beachside favorite of mine, are still permitted.
People unfamiliar with St Barth might ask why the rules are different for Pâques weekend. Easter weekend is a traditional Camping On The Beach weekend for local residents, and you will find tents, cookouts, games, music, and an all-around good time. It is particularly enjoyable if you have local friends who invite you to participate in their extended-family gathering.
