I am currently working on showing only usernames rather than full names, and fixing the problem with uploading a photo, so we can get rid of that Alfred Hitchcock looking guy.

An avatar would be nice.  Will it be possible to upload photos into a post? 

Appears that you have put a lot of time into creating this new St. Barts forum.  Good luck.  BTW, what does the name ALLO mean or stand for?

Right now the avatar upload (located in your profile) is mysteriously broken, which I am working to fix.  I apologize for that.  You may not see the "personal bar" (orange bar located above the photo at the top of every page) depending on the browser you are using.  It is an Internet Explorer layout issue I am also working to fix.  I suggest you try the Firefox browser, which is free, open source, faster, and more secure.  If you use the Firefox banner, found at the bottom of each page, to download Firefox, I get $100!

As for Allô, "allô" is how many French speakers say hello, for example when answering the phone.  Every time I'm out, and someone near me answers their cell phone with "Allô?", I smile.  There has been some debate about the circumflex over the "o" (ô).  It is not commonly used in writing but is valid French according to French dictionaries I have consulted.  The circumflex is a stylistic part of the Allô! logo.

Thanks for your words of encouragement.  We are working hard to spread the word and get more people to regularly use the site.  We begin our publicity campaign in September with advertising in preparation for High Season.  Allô! OK, lots of work done today!  As you can tell, avatar upload is working   If you visit your preferences page, you should be able to upload an image.  Please scale your image to 100 pixels tall by 75 pixels wide (or a photo of the same aspect ratio) otherwise your image will appear scrunched.  Working on THAT too

Also, you may notice that your posts are now identified by your username rather than your actual name.  This was a request by several users.  This change should take place site-wide.  While you're uploading your new photo, you may want to fill in the new "first name" and "last name" fields, which take the place of the "fullname" field.  These fields are only for my reference and should not be displayed anywhere on the site.
